Business technology expert looks to unseat Republican incumbent
Rosemary Bayer is a lifelong Michigander with a family history of public service -- her father is a former Mayor of New Baltimore. Bayer is running in an open seat to help Democrats break a GOP supermajority in the State Senate.
After a long career in business technology, including 15 years with Sun Microsystems, Bayer founded ardentCause L3C, a database technology company. She holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Math from Central Michigan University and an MBA from Lawrence Technological University.
Michigan's Senate District 12 is located in Oakland County, an area of Michigan that is trending favorably toward Democratic candidates. The district includes Addison Township, Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Township, Independence Township, Keego Harbor, Oakland Township, Orion Township, Oxford Township, Pontiac, Southfield Township, Sylvan Lake, and the Village of Clarkston.
